⚠️ Content Warning

The articles on this website often refer to predominantly male perpetrated violence, including domestic abuse, sexual violence, harassment and femicide, as well as women’s health inequalitiesespecially as a result of conflict and war. It particularly discusses the impact of misogyny and male supremacy.

The author writes from lived experience alongside her therapeutic background of more than two decades working as a qualified counsellor and trauma-informed educator. This included supporting victims subjected to male violence and families bereaved by it. The author acknowledges that people of all genders can be harmed by violence – and can beviolent – but this website centres the realities for women. The website is trans inclusive.

If the content doesn’t reflect your lived experience, readers are encouraged to set up their own website, within their means, on topics close to their heart.  Readers are also encouraged to read these terms of use before accessing the content library or engaging with content from it.

Commentary

Commentary included on this website (also referred to as ‘the service’) is offered as opinion and food for thought. The purpose of these articles is often to make emerging ideas readable, provide insight in to a particular topic or raise awareness of harms affecting women and often, by extension, all humans – including men.

The author (also referred to as ‘the service provider’) often writes in the context of discussing male violence against women, and/or the impact of trauma, because of her own lived and professional experience, hence tending to use “he” in articles when referring to harm doers.

Conversations are approached from a pacifist lens, incorporating spirituality and feminist theory, which may not be of interest to everyone.

While every effort is made to ensure that content is trauma-informed, it is impossible to mitigate for every eventuality and what may trigger or activate someone. Readers, listeners and other service users are therefore encouraged to look after themselves while accessing content, and if ever in any doubt about their health and wellbeing, to speak to an appropriate healthcare professional.

For an in-depth understanding of any topic discussed, clients are also encouraged to do their own research and refer to the original authors of these concepts, where cited.
